Reviews and Ratings
This hotel turned out to be a hidden gem! The warm and welcoming staff, combined with clean and comfortable rooms, made for a delightful stay. While the exterior might not be very appealing, the cheerful atmosphere and friendly locals more than made up for it. I especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast and engaging barroom conversations. However, the decor is a bit outdated, and the location requires a short bus trip to the city center.
While the Smithton Hotel may lack curb appeal and has some outdated decor, I found it to be a welcoming and friendly place with wonderful service. The local charm really shone through, with excellent staff and a delightful breakfast experience. However, the noise from the bar area and issues with room temperature did detract from the experience.
The Smithton Hotel serves as a cozy base for touring Sacred Scotland. It features well-appointed rooms and delicious food, but the decor feels outdated and it can be noisy at night. While the staff is amazing, the bathroom facilities could definitely use improvement.
I had a fantastic experience at the Smithton Hotel! The staff were incredibly accommodating, and the atmosphere in the bar was vibrant and welcoming. My only criticism would be related to the bunk bed in our room, which felt a bit unstable, but overall, the hotel was clean and great value for money. I can't wait to return for more delicious food and friendly interactions.
I had a decent stay overall, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and excellent breakfast options, though the room temperature was quite disappointing. The staff offered great service and the location was nice and quiet, but I ran into issues with the heating in my room which really affected my comfort level. The price was appealing for the value provided, but the cold temperatures were a letdown.
We had a fantastic family stay at this hotel with adjoining rooms that provided us plenty of space and privacy. The breakfast was delicious, especially the bacon, which was a real highlight. The location felt a bit odd being surrounded by houses, but the friendly vibe from the locals made it enjoyable. Overall, we loved the experience, although the dining could use some improvement.
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Peter, the proprietor, was incredibly welcoming and went out of his way to assist us, even helping with our luggage. The breakfast each morning set us up perfectly for the day, and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner on our last night. The only downside was that it could get a bit noisy during the party on Saturday, but we were not disturbed significantly. Overall, it was a brilliant experience, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
I had a delightful stay at the Smithton Hotel, where the interior was surprisingly fresh and welcoming despite the plain exterior. The staff made me feel right at home, going above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, which definitely added to the overall experience. However, I did find my room a bit small and there were some heating issues that made the night a bit uncomfortable.
I had a lovely stay at the Smithton Hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed, and the breakfast was delicious and filling. The location isn't the most impressive at first glance, but don’t let it fool you; once inside, the atmosphere is warm and friendly. However, some of the decor feels outdated, and the top bunk in my room really could use some attention.
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, just outside Inverness. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the locals added a lovely community vibe. The comfort and cleanliness of the hotel are top-notch, while the dining options were satisfying, though a bit pricier for some dishes. However, the restaurant area could use better heating during colder times.
